Get ready for our first-ever Tigerfish Swim-a-thon on June 5 (rain date: June 6)! This exciting team event will bring our swimmers together for a fun night of swimming laps, cheering each other on, earning prizes, and supporting the future of Tigerfish swimming.

We are raising money for six new starting/diving blocks for our team. Our current blocks are aging and will need to be replaced within the next few years, so we are starting now to help fund this important upgrade. With blocks costing about $3,000 each, every donation helps us move closer to our goal!

Here’s how the fundraising works: families can collect support in two ways. Some donors choose to make a per-lap pledge, meaning they commit to donating a certain amount for each lap your swimmer completes during the event. The platform we are using, Rally Up, will also allow you to put in the maximum amount you want to spend. Other donors prefer a general donation, which is a flat amount given regardless of how many laps are swum. Both types of donations go toward your swimmer’s fundraising total, and both are equally appreciated!

Each swimmer can earn prizes based on what they raise, and even just one donation earns a prize! We hope every Tigerfish swimmer participates in this important fundraiser.

Each family will receive an email from Rally Up with their swimmer’s personal fundraising page to share with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Donors can give through the Rally Up page, or if they prefer cash, check, or Venmo, that is absolutely fine too, just let us know so we can log the donation and ensure your swimmer receives credit.

On the night of the Swim-a-thon, swimmers will swim laps while families help cheer them on. Each swimmer will need a parent or adult at the end of the pool to help count laps so we can accurately record results for any per-lap pledges. Those lap totals will be entered into Rally Up afterward to calculate the final donation amounts for those supporters.

Ask everyone you know to support your swimmer, and don’t forget to check whether your company offers a donation match to help us go even further!

A few things to note:

• Each swimmer has their own page to send out. A parent who is registered with the team this year will receive an email from Rally Up to access this page. You can send this out to family and friends to have them directly donate to your swimmer.
• Rally Up has a tipping option at the end - you do not have to tip the platform if you don't want to. Just make it a custom amount of $0.
• If you click the 'Per Lap Pledge' button at the top, it will jump you down to search for the swimmers. If you choose the General donation button, this will not go to a particular swimmer so make sure you find your swimmer and donate that way.
• Swimmers earn prizes and they can be found on the site.
