Volunteer Opportunities
Swim meets involve the whole family. A good group of swimmers is only half the recipe for a great swim team. We also need dedicated parent volunteers from every family! We will make sure you do not miss your child's/children's events while volunteering. It is mandatory for at least one member of every Tigerfish family to volunteer at each swim meet, both home and away!
Volunteer Positions
| Concession Staff | With Concession Manager, assists in the purchase and sale of food items at home meets and coordinates staffing at the concession table during home meets. |
| Head Timer | Coordinates timers at each lane, provides backup watches in case of error or missed start during home and away meets. Duties are split into first and second half of the meet. |
| Timers | Time swimming events using stopwatches and record times on heat sheets for home and away meets. Duties are split into first and second half of the meet. |
| Clerk of Course | Line up swimmers for each event/heat in advance and guide them to the correct lanes. |
| Runner | At meets, collect time sheets after each event and deliver them to the scorers at the scoring table during home and away meets. |
| Scorer | Process time sheets, circle highest score, and deliver sheets to computer operator. |
| Ribbon Writer | Create ribbons for events based on the results (ribbons for positions and best time) by applying printed labels. |
| Heat Ribbons | Hand out Heat Winner ribbons/prizes to the fastest swimmer in each heat during home meets. |
| Setup | Beginning at 7:00 am sharp, set up the pop-up tents for the scoring table, concession area, and clerk of course. Set up the guide ropes and tables, position chairs, etc. |
| Cleanup | Put everything away at the end of the meet. |
| Stroke and Turn Judges | Observes each swimmer to ensure they follow the correct rules for their strokes and turns, reporting any violations that could lead to disqualification. CMSL Certification is required. For details please contact Kim Oldham. |
| Announcer | Calls out events over the loudspeaker and keeps spectators informed of other important meet announcements. Home meets only. |
| Computer Operator | Enter swimmer's times on Meet Maestro. |
